Lake Petersburg, Illinois: a private Menard County lakefront community located just south of Petersburg in Central Illinois.
Lake Petersburg is a private lakefront community located between the city of Petersburg and historic Lincoln's New Sale State Park. At almost 200 acres in size, Lake Petersburg is large enough for excellent boating and fishing, but rural enough to provide a relaxing quality of life to its residents. Numerous beautiful homes line the 14 miles of Lake Petersburg shoreline.
Lake Petersburg lies outside the city limits of Petersburg, and is the largest lake in Menard County. The 18-hole Shambolee golf course is located adjacent to the south-east edge of the Lake Petersburg development. Fishing and boating is restricted to families of lake homeowners and lot owners (along with their guests.) All houses at Lake Petersburg are located on lake front lots. A lake home is a solid investment, so if you are interested in owning a house or building lot on Lake Petersburg, just contact one of the real estate agents listed on the PetersburgIL.com local Real Estate page.
