 I'm researching my father, Jacob Chapman's Illinois roots. He was born in Athens in 1878. He had brothers John B. who was married in Petersburg, and lived most of his life in Springfield, and William G., who lived in Franklin county. I would like to hear from anyone who knows of descendants of these folks.

I see this is a way to look up old friends from Springfield, Il. I graduated from Springfield High in 1980, and attended Calvary Temple. I didn't know if there was any viewers out there from that area in 1980. Just wondering. Pam

Hello Petersburg! I have been tracing my family roots and found out my great great grandparents are from this very town.  A Francis & Elizabeth Lofton lived here in 1899 and gave birth to my great grandfather Ira Lofton that same year.  I hope to visit your fine town sometime in the new future.

I live near H'ville, AL, but subscribe to the online newspaper (edited by a friend from the Lions Club in Petersburg, TN). No "real" comments, as I haven't seen your site yet.  Hello,
I recently was checking out the web site of the Sunny Acres Nursing home where my sister is a patient. I noticed in the site they had place where you could click on Petersburg. My brother-in-law lives in town.
So I was interested in seeing what the site had.  It is great!  One of the cutest, nicest I have seen.
I will be back to visit the site once again and hopefully the cute town of Petersburg.
