Menard County Farm Bureau® Mission Statement
" Improve the economic well-being of agriculture and enrich the quality of farm family life."
MCFB® has approximately 1,100 members. The Farm Bureau® seeks to further its members' goals by being involved in local, state, national and international issues that affect its members. The Menard County Farm Bureau® provides information to members on issues that impact them.

Farming For You Website Explains Food Pricing
Why are food prices on the increase? Illinois Farm Bureau has created a new
website to provide consumers with the proper answers.
Farmingforyou.org discusses and explains the five major reasons food prices are on the rise:
· Higher energy prices
· Inflation and the weak U.S. Dollar
· Weather
· Global demand
· Labor costs
"Because this is such an overwhelmingly complicated issue, we've simplified the website with icons for each issue," says IFB Issues Management Director Adam Nielsen. "We're explaining how agriculture can be the solution to each of these problems."
The website also highlights information on how consumers can save at the grocery store, view a video on what's really happening with food prices, and links to food-related news stories.
In addition to the website, IFB is also providing newspaper ads and radio spots to county Farm Bureaus explaining the cause for higher prices and informing consumers about how much of the food dollar actually goes to the farmer.
Another ad talking about the "perfect storm" of food prices will run in the June edition of Illinois Issues magazine, which goes to state and federal lawmakers and other policymakers.
