Annual Meeting News: November 2009

The Menard County Farm Bureau held its annual meeting on Friday, November 20 at the PORTA High School. The meeting was in conjunction with the annual report of Lincoln Land FS, Inc.

President Jay Winkelmann presided over the Farm Bureau portion of the meeting. Richard Holliday, Gary Jurgens and Dennis Kunken were elected to serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors. Jay Winkelmann was presented a past president’s pin and Vern Argo was recognized as a retiring director. Jim Brown was presented with an award for signing the most Farm Bureau members. Carrie Winkelmann, Ag Literacy Coordinator for the Sangamon-Menard Ag Education Partnership, gave an update on the Partnership’s activities. Harry Schirding was honored for serving 17 years as a CropWatcher with Farmweek. Following the meeting, James Keeran, an Abraham Lincoln impersonator, presented a program as President Lincoln.
